Massage Therapy
Sports Massage involves manipulation of muscles and soft tissues in the body.
Massage can be beneficial both physiologically and psychologically to help with relaxation and the prevention or, recovery from injury.
It may be helpful in the following circumstances; post event or workout, pre event, tight muscles, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS), Post injury or as part of a training programme.
You can expect to be assessed and treated by our Supervised Student Sports Therapists who will tailor your massage to your needs and goals.
Sports Therapy
Sports Therapists are allied health professionals who manage injuries to the body.
They will assess, treat, rehabilitate or, refer for specialist advice if the condition is out of their scope of practice.
Sports therapists can use soft tissue interventions, such as massage, along with exercise prescription to help in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. Enabling patients to return to training, sport or work.
The Sports Therapy Clinic at Edgehill University is run by students of the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy clinic under the supervision of very experienced and qualified lecturers on the Sports Therapy programme.
